Örebro is a modern city of about 100,000 with old roots, located in the small province of Närke in Svealand in south central Sweden. Being previously known as a shoe manufacturing centre, the most known sights are the Castle, the Wadköping Park and the Svampen (Mushroom) water tower. It's located on the flat Närke plains, surrounded by vast forest areas.

There are daily flights to Örebro from Malmö, Copenhagen and Stockholm/Arlanda

By train

Örebro is located near Hallsberg which is Swedens premier train hub. Train connectivity is therefore excellent from all over Sweden.

By car

E20, E18 and riksväg 50 all connect in Örebro.

By bus

Swebus express offers bus services from most major cities.

By boat

Get around

The city center is easilly explored on foot. There is a well functioning network of city buses servicing all parts of the city. All regional and city buses stop at resecenter (next to the train station). Järntorget also functions as a hub for the city buses. The municipality offers bicycles for rent if one wishes to explore the city by bike. Enquire at the tourist agency in the castle.

Örebro Castle is one of Swedens most photogenic and tours are available. The city park has been voted "Swedens most beautiful" and a visit is recomended in the summertime. Wadköping is a man made "old town" where lots of old cottages that used to be spread out in the city has been gathered in to one place. Örebro city centre.

Gustavsvik is northern Europe´s largest water funpark. It also has one of Swedens finest campings and "adventure" minature golf in it´s vincinity. The watertower Svampen (The Mushroom) is a local landmark and offers panoramic views of the city and a hosts the water museum/workshop Aqua Nova. Örebro läns museum has exhibits year round. Örebro Konsthall displays diffrent art exhibitions. The Swedish Chambermusic Orchestra resides in Konserthuset and holds concerts year round.
