Arbil

Arbil is a city in Northern Iraq. This region is known as the Kurdistan region of Iraq.

Because of the Kurdish infighting, there are two capitals of Kurdistan each with their own government. Arbil is one of them. As Sulaymaniyah is the other.

There is a planned merger between these governments in the near future.

Formerly Kurdistan have had 2 capitals, but after an agreement on 8-1-2006 Kurdistan now is a whole part, with Arbil as capital.
