The Balkans is a region that includes countries in the South-East of Europe, including the former Yugoslavia.

The countries of Romania and Slovenia are sometimes considered to be part of the Balkans, especially touristically, even though these countries are increasingly being included in tour packages with Central European countries such as Hungary, the Czech Republic and Poland.
