The Basque Country is the home of the Basque people. Spanish is widely spoken, but you'll also see signs in Basque.
Althogh Basque Country is nowaday a spanish autonomous community, historically Basque Country (Basque Euskal Herria) is a region with six provinces in Spain and France. These provinces are the three ones that make up the autonomous community, Navarra (Basque Nafarroa), Labord (Basque Lapurdi), French Navarra (Basque Behenafarroa) and Soule (Basque Zuberoa).
