Belém, located near the mouth of the Amazon River in northern Brazil, is the capital of the state of Pará and the largest city in the region.

Understand
Belém is to the side of the Bay of Guajará, formed for a set of islands and mouths of a river of some rivers. Its fluvial port is put into motion of the region north of Brazil. The city was established in 1616, to the side of the river Pará, with the construction of the "Forte do Presépio", today "Forte Castelo". The city synthesizes a good part of the culture and the history of Pará and Amazônia.
