Spago, Wolfgang's Puck's flagship, is worth a splurge and you can say you ate at the real deal. The food is excellent, the decor (designed by his wife) is terrific, and Wolfgang himself often stops by if he is in town.
The Ivy on the Beverly Hills/Los Angeles border is another great splurge and famous movie star hangout. It was featured in a hilarious scene in the film "Get Shorty", with John Travolta, Danny DeVito, and Gene Hackman. 113 N. Robertson Boulevard (310) 274-8303.
