Understand

Castillon is a pleasant perched village on the road from Menton to Sospel and thence Breil sur Roya. It is compact and pretty and the views are spectacular.

Get In

• A8 Exit Menton. Follow signs for Sospel and Monti (D 2566).
• From Breil sur Roya go to Sospel and then take the D 2566 to Menton.
• From Menton it is possible to drive via Castellar instead of taking the D2566 past the A8 interchange.

See

• The views, especially the viaducts of the old tramway on the way
• The tidy village

Do

Hike on the various trails around the village especially the trail towards the Col de Castillon.

Art from the numerous galleries.

Drink

• Mare Nostrum, [1]. At the Mare Nostrum brewery just by the church. Also buy some of their beer or lemonade to take away.
