Cuenca is a city in Ecuador.

Get in

  • By plane: There are daily local flights from and to Quito, Guayaquil and to the neighbouring countries.
  • By bus/car: Cuenca lies next to the Panamerican highway. Bus travels in Ecuador are for the adventurous mind.

Get around

Cuenca is good to walk around the city center. Cabs are readily available and charge $1-$2 per trip (As of 2002), the fee should be negotiated before entering the car.

See

Banos - A beautiful spot just outside of Cuenca with large lakes for fishing. (Not to Be confused with the Banos further north which is the entrance to the Rainforest.)

Also the gigantic cathedral in the center of town dates back a long time. (Like the 1500's)

There is an Actual "Pizza Hut" in Cuenca. One of the few in the country. (Especially outside of the big cities) Any Cabbie will know where it is when asked.
