Farnborough (Hampshire)

Farnborough is a town in the northern part of the English county of Hampshire, close to the border with Surrey. It is perhaps best known as the home of the biannual Farnborough International Air Show.

Get in

By road

From London, take the M3 to Junction 4, then follow the signs along the A331 to Farnborough.

By rail

From London, trains run frequently directly from Waterloo station. Travelling time is between 45 minutes and 1 hour, depending on train caught.

  • Farnborough Abbey [1] Built by Empress Eugenie as a mausoleum to her husband Napoleon III and home of Benedictine monks.
  • Farnborough International Air Show [2] Held every two years in summer, public days tend to be the last weekend only. Exhibits cover civilian & military hardware both static and as an aeriel display - due to be held next on 22-23 July 2006
