Guanajuato is a city in Mexico.

A beautiful mountain town. Many Mexicans consider this place to be the most beautiful city in Mexico. It used to be a major silver mining town, but the mines have since dried up. The city is built on very hilly ground, so virtually every point in the city is on a slant. There are bridges and tunnels everywhere.

See

Giant statue of El Pipila, a revolutionary hero, at the top of a nearby hill (he wore a stone slab on his back to protect himself while assaulting the enemy)

Don Quixote museum. Small, but very well done.

The mummy museum.

The central plaza always has a lot of things going on, even at night.

Do

At the University, there is a 3-4 story series of steps that lead up to a church. Climb up the steps and look out over the colonial city. It is, by far and away, the most beautiful view of Mexico I have seen.
