Hillerød is a small city in northern Zealand, Denmark, notable for its castle.

Get in
Hillerød is a small hub for the area north of Copenhagen. Hillerød station is the north end of the S-train system Line A and E to Copenhagen. There are also trains to Fredensborg, Tisvildeleje, Hundested, and Helsingør
There are busses to many nearby destinations.

Get around
You can walk to the castle from the city or the station (15 minutes) or use bus 701 or 702.
From the station follow the signs down Vibekevej to the city or the castle.

- Frederiksborg castle [1] tel: +45 48260439, email: frederiksborgmuseet@frederiksborgmuseet.dk. build by Frederik II in 1560. It in walking distance from the city and the station. Mid Mar to Oct: 10am-5pm, Nov-Mar:11-15 Entrance DKK 60. Inside you can see the church, the halls, displays of old paintings. On the third floor is the modern collection with portraits and painting from 20. century danish history. Do not miss the baroque gardens started 1720 [2].
