Kimberley is a city in the Nothern Cape Province of South Africa. It is famous for the Big Hole, a very deep hole that was created, when hundreds of people searched for diamonds in the end of the 19th and beginning 20th century. It is also one of the major cities in the Karoo.

By car
The N12 runs from here to Cape Town and Johannesburg.
By air
The city is served by its own airport and flights to South Africa's major cities are available with South African Airways.

See
Around the Big Hole is the Diamond Museum, which boost the old settlers village, some show rooms with old machines and a shop, where you can buy diamonds at prime rates.
Kimberley is home to some world-famous diamond companies, like De Beers and diamonds are sorted out and categorised in Kimberley.

- The Hadida Guest House is a goood three start B&B that is centrally located. It has TV in all rooms and a pool.
Get out
- Go to Bloemfontein, South Africa's judicial capital.
- Go north to Upington (follow N12 westwards until it crosses the N10 to Upington) and from there to the Kgalagadi Transfontier Park.
