Get in

The island's only airport is just to the west of Arrecife, with the airport designator code ACE. In addition to the charter flights that serve Lanzarote from Northern Europe, there are scheduled flights operated to some of the other Canary Islands and to the Spanish mainland.

Get around

See

  • The highlight of a visit to Lanzarote for many is the Timinfaya National Park, a volcanic landscape that has barely changed since its eruption in the 1730s and covers a quarter of the island's surface.
  • The sculptures and constructions of César Manrique, the local artist, which are dotted about the island. Included amongst these is the Jameos del Agua (a concert hall in a lava-tube cavern) and the Mirador del Rio viewpoint building.
