Muehlviertel

Austria is divided into provinces. One of these provinces is Upper Austria. In turn Upper Austria is subdivided into 4 regions. One of these 4 regions is the Muehlviertel. The Muehlviertel is the part north of the river Danube.
The Muehlviertel is a very hilly area and known for agriculture. There is no industry here and the area is very rural.

- Public buses called Postbus are available to get you from one village to another; prices are reasonable but schedules might be infrequent

- You can move on to Czech Republic or Germany as both border with the Muehlviertel
- Alternatively go to Linz as it is the regional transportation hub
