Neptun & Olymp are twin beach resorts nestled between the sea and the Comorova forest. These resorts were designed as playgrounds for rich communists. Neptun's 28 hotels are set back about 200 meters, separated from the 1.25 mile (2 km.) long beach by a lake. Sheltered on three sides by the forest, Neptun is the preferred resort of families with children. There is also a modern balneary clinic with therapeutic equipment for rheumatic cures, and Asian organic regeneration therapies. Recreational offerings include sports grounds, indoor pools, a park, cinema, gambling, discos, and night clubs. Accommodation is available in private villas, hotels, bungalows and camping sites.

Neptun is the most elegant Black Sea resort, having many new hotels, restaurants, fast foods, pools, super-markets and shops, bars, night-clubs and discos.

It is relatively new (developed in 7th decade of 20th century). Neptun is situated in the SE extremity of Romania, on the Black Sea coast, elevation 5-20 m. Greenery-rich zone (forests), dendrological park (cedars, cypresses, pines, oaks, lime trees, birch trees, etc.). 280 km from Bucharest, 38 km South of the municipality of Constanta and 6 km North of Mangalia city.

Climate: Exciting climate of maritime littoral with mostly bright hot summers (June - September average temperature above 22 C), maximum temperature 29 C, the sun shines for 10-12 hours a day. Sea water temperature 23 C. Many recreational opportunities offered by the summer theater, cinema hall, sports-grounds (tennis, volleyball, basketball, minigolf, bicycles rent), pools (8 outdoors and 4 indoors), water sports (Yamaha water-scooters, yawls, water-skiing, hydrobicycles, wind-surfing), children's amusement park, etc.
