Newark (Ohio)

Newark is the county seat of Licking County. Located about 40 miles (64 kilometers) to the East of Columbus, Newark is an industrial center for the aerospace, lighting and fiberglass insulation industries. It is the home of the Newark Campus of the Ohio State University and Central Ohio Technical College. The basket-shaped building which serves as the headquarters for the famed Longaberger Company, makers of baskets and other products for the home, is located on the eastern edge of the city.
