Do

Eat

Omaha and much of Nebraska are known for high quality corn-fed beef. Below are a selection of locations to eat in Omaha.

  • Katie's, home-style greek food. This is one of the places we go whenever we return to Omaha. (Local, $9 per person, mid-town).
  • Venice Inn, Italian food in a kind of surreal atmosphere. Good food. (Local, $12 per person, west).
  • Mister C's, Italian food in a kind of surreal atmosphere. I describe Mister C's as like having dinner in Venice at Christmas. Good food. Same owner as Venice Inn. (Local, $12 per person, west)
  • The French Cafe, french food, particularly known for their pepper steak. (Local, $15 per person, down town).
  • The Diner, classic American-style diner in Downtown area.
  • Jaipur, Indian food. (Local, $12 per person, west)
  • The Garden Cafe, American cafe food. Years ago they had the best "Omaha Hot Beef" sandwich, but the last time I visited they had changed it and I really disliked it. They have good sandwiches and baking, though. (Local chain, $9 per person, multiple locations)
