Rautalampi is in Central Finland. It is located in the district of Northern Savo (Pohjois Savo) and has about 4000 inhabitants.

Get in

The next railroad station is Suonenjoki about 20 km east of Rautalampi. There is a bus connection available.

Get around

Public transportation is only available on the main roads. To get around and see something else than the main village car or bike is strongly recommended.

See

The church of Rautalampi is one of the biggest wooden churches in northern Europe. Is was designed by the same architect C.A. Engel who also designed the cathedral and many other buildings in Helsinki.

The museum of Rautalampi shows various pieces of local art-work and tools from the last centuries. The opening hours are short and it is open only during the summer.

Rautalampi has a [riding high-school], the only one in Finland.
