Saskatoon is the largest city in the province of Saskatchewan in Canada. Saskatoon is located along the South Saskatchewan River and is known as a city of bridges. Saskatoon is home to the University of Saskatchewan, which is home to "The Canadian Light Source" which is Canada's only synchrotron.

By Plane

Saskatoon International Airport is located in the northern end of the city. Air Canada Jazz and WestJet are the main carriers in the airport, with NorthWest Airlines flying to Minneapolis. Air Canada Jazz and WestJet both service Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, and Winnipeg. Air Canada Jazz also services Toronto Pearson Airport.

By Train

Via Rail travels to Winnipeg in one direction and Edmonton in another.

By Bus

Greyhound provides bus service to and from Saskatoon.

The name 'Saskatoon' comes from the aboriginal word for a type of berry that grows along the river.
