Shropshire is England's largest inland county, covering an area of 1,347 square miles. To the west it borders Wales and to the south rural Herefordshire. In the north is Cheshire and, to the east, Staffordshire and the West Midlands conurbation.

- Bridgnorth - town in East Shropshire
- Ironbridge - the birthplace of industry
- Ludlow - historical and pleasant town in South Shropshire
- Telford - the largest town; new town built in the 1970s
- Oswestry - town in the North West part of the county
- Newport, Shropshire - small town in North East Shropshire
