South Sandwich Islands are part of the South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands overseas territory administered by the United Kingdom. The islands are located in the South Atlantic ocean close to Antarctica.

There is very little traveling to the South Sandwich Islands. There may be one or two cruise ship or yacht visits in a year. In winter the pack ice extends to surround the islands. The islands are completely uninhabited by humans, though are home to millions of penguins.
