St. Marys City is in Maryland, a state in the United States of America.

Understand

St. Marys City, founded in 1632, is the fourth oldest permanent settlement in British North America, the first state capital of Maryland, and the first Catholic community in North America allowed to practice openly marking a major step toward religious tolerance.

St. Marys City is located at the mouth of the Potomac River where it meets the Chesapeake Bay in what is called Southern Maryland in St. Marys County. It is estimated there are more archaeological sites in St.Marys County than the rest of Maryland combined. It has a lot of history to explore.

Today the city it is occupied by St. Marys College, a state college campus. There are exhibits and activities for visitors including period buildings and people in costume.
