Timişoara is a university city and industrial center in western Romania. It is often described as the most cosmopolitan city in Romania.

Timişoara airport is 10km from the city center. There are regular flights from the surrounding countries and Bucharest. Car hire is available at the airport.

Belgrade (Serbia) is 150km or 2 1/2 hours away by car.

  • The Roman Orthodox Cathedral in the city center

Timişoara is not short of places to eat. From McDonalds to top class restaurants such as Casa Cu Flori.

  • Hotel Continental - Large concrete hotel in the city centre. It has good rooms, which will cost about €90 per night. This is probably not a good place for children, because of the nightclub in the basement. Easy to find on B-dul Revolutiei 1989.
