Nerima (練馬) Ward, located northwest of Shinjuku, is a suburban area of western Tokyo.

Get in
Nerima is accessible on the Toei Oedo subway line from many points in the city, and on the Seibu Railway Ikebukuro and Shinjuku lines from Ikebukuro and Shinjuku respectively. The Tokyo Metro Yurakucho Line terminates in Nerima and some trains run through to the Shinjuku Line.

- Toshimaen (としまえん) is an amusement park located at Toshimaen Station on the Oedo Line (also served by a tiny spur of the Ikebukuro Line: board a train bound for Toshimaen, or change trains at Nerima). The park is aimed at children with a merry-go-round, small roller coasters, and other carnival-type rides, as well as seven swimming pools with water slides. Admission is ¥1,000 for adults and ¥500 for children, plus ¥400 per ride; a free pass for all the rides is ¥3,800 for adults and ¥2,800 for children. Admission to the water park is also ¥3,800 for adults and ¥2,800 for children.
- For a more relaxing experience, there is a large, upscale sento, Niwa-no-yu (庭の湯), adjacent to Toshimaen, which features indoor and outdoor baths, Roman steam rooms, Finnish saunas, a large indoor pool (bring your bathing suit), and an upstairs area with food, drinks, massages, and relaxation chairs (food, drinks, and massages cost extra). Entrance is ¥2,250 before 9 pm, ¥1,260 after; open until 11pm.

Cartagena, 4F, 7-1-1 Shakujii-cho, 03-5372-0103 The building is located beside the first railroad Xing in west of Shakujii-koen station. It is a cozy and friendly spot where you can dance and drink. Open daily 7pm thru midnight, Friday and Saturday all night. It is probably the first Latin bar in Nerima region. Owner is a lady once lived in Columbia. She speaks English and Espanol. Beers, rums and others start 500 yen by COD. Also check a salsa event on weekend.
