Valparaiso (Valparaíso) is a city of 600,000 on the Pacific coast of the central region of Chile. It is 120km West of the capital, Santiago.

On weekends, the time to go out for a drink (Chilean peolple call it "salir de carrete") starts at about Midnight-1.00 AM, in the week you can start at 7 PM. The pubs and clubs close at 5 AM.

Drinking alcohol in the streets is not allowed and 18 years is the minimum (alcohol) drinking age. (If you are under 18, you may not be allowed entry into some pubs.)
