West Africa

West Africa is the western region of Africa. In the north the region is bounded by the Sahel, and in the south and west by the Atlantic Ocean.

It is generally considered to consist of the following countries:
- Benin
- Cameroon
- Cape Verde
- Cote d'Ivoire
- Gabon
- Gambia
- Ghana
- Guinea
- Guinea-Bissau
- Liberia
- Nigeria
- Republic of the Congo (Congo-Brazzaville)
- Senegal
- Sierra Leone
- The Gambia
- Togo
Sometimes Chad and Mauritania are also considered as West African states.
